Consumer privacy: The Regence commitment
Regence BlueShield is committed to protecting the privacy of all personal information. In June, all Regence members received a notice informing them of what types of personal information we obtain and how we generally disclose and safeguard this information. In the disclosure notice, we addressed the following consumer privacy points:

• What is personal information?
• Why do we collect personal information?
• How do we collect personal information?
• To whom do we disclose personal information?
• How do we protect personal information?

The consumer privacy documents are available online at www.wa.regence.com/provider under the heading of "Consumer Privacy Notice."

Dentists, hospitals and other custodians of patient health information have two years to apply the new regulations in their practices and facilities.
